About Us
Our Story
Nielsen’s Garden Development specializes in maintaining and developing many of the premier gardens throughout Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula region.
We are a boutique, owner-operated firm with extensive knowledge of the region, its climate, soils, and natural vegetation.
Having operated continuously on the Peninsula for nearly thirty years, we have helped our clients to envision and realise the full potential of their properties, be that a contained private oasis, an indigenous expanse, a productive orchard, or a bold and sustainable landscape enterprise, such as a commercial citrus or olive grove.
We have particular expertise in the art of espaliering and provide workshops on this and other horticultural techniques. We delight in working long-term with our clients to guide and be guided by them as they see their property transform.
Our Team
We are a small team local to the southern Mornington Peninsula, working predominantly through Red Hill, Flinders and Main Ridge.
Our focus is on developing some of the larger, often diverse properties in the area. Our team are a mixture of professionally qualified horticulturalists, qualified gardeners, other qualified tradespeople, people in training and trades assistants with the experience to deliver the outcomes and service the requirements of some of the larger and more diverse projects require.

CAMILLA LAZZAR
Camilla is a gifted horticulturalist with a passion for hands on gardening with both practical experience and extensive studies.
Camilla has a Horticultural Degree (Burnley, University of Melbourne) specialising in environmental studies. More recently she has undertaken further studies as a graduate student in ‘Garden Design’ (Burnley).
Camilla spent the first 19 years of her career in management roles at the famed ‘Diggers Club’. This gave Camilla an extensive knowledge of many hundreds of rare plants, bulbs and seeds. She also worked as a ‘horticultural advisor’ answering queries on all aspects of gardening needs Australia-wide.
For the past seven years she has worked in partnership with Mike developing ‘Nielsen’s Garden Development’. She has a particular interest in the design and development of flower gardens and edible landscapes. She also likes to teach students and gardeners alike, gardening skills to better equip them in tackling their own gardens.
